Pre-Departure Meeting

Saturday the 19th of april I went to the pre departure meeting of CCUSA.                                      All the Dutch Counselors who where going to work in the USA had to go there.

I took my mom and my friend Sarah to accompany me. We met the dutch staff and they gave us a lot of information during a long powerpoint presentation about visa, traveling, insurance, packing your bags, orientation in New York, money, camp rules, emergencies, culture shock, etc, etc.       We also had a few brakes where we did some fun games to get to know each other better, like American Idol. We where split up in 6 teams and whe had to make up a song based on an existing melody and preform.  I also met a very nice girl, named Fea from Amsteram. We could get along great and We hoped that we would end up at the same camp. Or travel after camp. By now I know that she has been placed in Pennsylvania.
